Should I buy a rod or a better weight?
The community training guide describes a warning when trained power exceeds the rod cap. With that warning, prioritize a usable rod upgrade; without it, training can still be the way to extend reach. Check the equipped item after purchase.
For a savings estimate, subtract your balance from the shop price and divide by current island income per second. For example, an illustrative 20M shortfall at 100,000/s takes 200 seconds, or 3 minutes 20 seconds, if the rate stays constant and you spend nothing else. This estimates affordability, not how fast the rod will pay for itself.

What does “best rod” mean for my account?
First eliminate rods you cannot yet unlock or afford. Then compare their displayed cap and effects with your actual problem. A rod that removes a power cap can be a useful purchase even if another rod has more luck. If you already reach the desired fish, luck or cycle speed may be a more relevant comparison.
