Understand collection rewards, daily Gems, the Diamond float restriction, and which Gem purchase serves your next fishing goal.
How to get Gems
The July community fishing guide describes Gems as rewards for filling Fish Index entries. September’s All Things How guide reports 60 Gems per day from daily tasks. These are separate routes: a duplicate fish does not establish that an unclaimed Index entry has been completed.
- Open the Fish Index and choose an entry your collection is missing.
- Catch the corresponding fish and check whether that entry now appears complete.
- If the Index shows a claim control, collect its displayed reward.
- Use the daily task panel for its own requirements and rewards; do not confuse it with a one-time collection reward.
We do not have an entry-by-entry reward table. That is a limit on exact completion totals, not a reason to overlook the Index’s collection and reward role.
Why is my Diamond float not giving Gems?

Fufuuu’s August report: Mythic Diamond floats give 20% each; five give 100% for one Gem per cast. August 22 adds a maximum-zone requirement.
Use those conditions to check a failed attempt. This is a dated player report, not an independent September playtest.
Should I spend Gems on weather or save them?

The mutation guide gives the reported extraction cost and duration; its weather section compares durations. Keeping those details together makes it easier to recognize a changed version.
Are free gifts the same as codes?
No. All Things How describes a Free Gift station reward after liking, favoriting and joining the game’s group. That is a separate reward flow, not text to paste into the Codes box. Its September guide reports no active code; see the codes status and redemption instructions.
Fish names, mutation labels and Index completion
Keep the underlying species separate from a mutation prefix. A Bloody Codfish refers to Codfish carrying a mutation; it does not prove a separately rewarded species entry. Use the fish reference for names and the actual Index entry for its completion condition.
